Spending Time on Florida Beaches

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

When you live in Jacksonville Beach, you’ll find that it’s easy to spend your time running on the sand or splashing in the waves, building sandcastles or flying kits, combing the sand for treasure or just relaxing in the sun. Similarly, when you have waterfront land in St. Augustine where you are able to build a home of your own with easy access to the shore or you live in Ponce Inlet, spending time on Florida beaches is simple.

Florida’s beaches are a destination for many; for those who call the area home, it’s easy to understand what is so appealing. From soft sand to a temperate climate, from access to the water to access to great golf without having to go far from home, those who spend time on Florida beaches will find that they are able to focus on having a great time while still living the lives that they were meant to live.

When you live near one of Florida’s beaches, you will find education, you will find sports, you will find great jobs, activities and time with your family: in other words, you will find that when you live near Florida beaches you will be in a position in which you’re able to experience everything that you are looking for - and then some.

Exploring the Coast When You Live in Florida

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

One of the great things that many people discover when they are living in Florida is that it’s remarkably easy to get out and spend a day at the beach. More importantly, however, especially for those people who have kids in the family, living in Florida is also about exploring the coast line and learning more about the natural habitat. Those who live in Jacksonville, for example, will find that they are able to easily learn more about life on the barrier islands off the shore:

(source)Join a park ranger to learn about the species that inhabit the natural communities of the undeveloped barrier islands of northeast Florida. The program will take place at pavilion one on Little Talbot Island. No reservations are necessary and the program is free with regular park admission.

Little Talbot Island is a great place for spending time with the family, to explore what the area would be like if it were all undeveloped and to make sure that the kids are able to learn more about preserving natural habitats. After all, one of the most effective things that you can do when you want to be sure that your kids are concerned about preserving the environment for the future is to make sure that they are able to take advantage of the full experience while they are young.

Exploring Florida’s Beaches Isn’t Just About Time Spent on Land

Monday, July 14th, 2008

When you’re living on Florida’s Fist Coast, one of the things that you’re going to find is that there are plenty of great beaches that are there, waiting to be explored. What’s interesting though - and what many who live on the First Coast of Florida already know - is that beaches are not meant to just be explored from the shoreline and the water is not meant to be explored simply while in a boat. The area is also not a bad place to explore from under the water.

According to today’s SCUBA report:

Jacksonville Scuba Diving Conditions - 7/14/08

I did not personally dive this weekend but the only report I have heard was from the BR (Blackmars Reef) area. Visibility was 10-12ft and the water was 66 degrees on the bottom. I guess it could be worse!

In other words, when you live on Florida’s First Coast, one of the things that you’ll discover is that it’s easy to get out there and explore under the water. SCUBA diving is, of course, just one more thing that you’re going to be able to take advantage of when you live in Florida - especially when you live near the water.

waterfront kitchen

When you make the choice to call a Florida waterfront community home, you’ll find that there are a number of distinct advantages. Of course, one of the best advantages that many people find is the ability to take advantage of the inspiration brought on by the Florida beach - even when they are in the kitchen.

For example, let’s say that you aren’t sure what you want to do for dinner. When you live in a Florida waterfront community, you’ll find that you’re able to plan a light meal and to have a picnic on the sand or dinner on the porch while you watch the tides roll in.

Alternately, if you are unsure of what to make for dinner, when you live on the Florida beach, you just might find that your love of fishing lends itself to making a fresh catch. You might choose to start cooking with sea salts.

Simply put, when you have a beachfront home in Florida, you’ll find that you’re able to come up with some great meal ideas - and that you’ll have great ways to enjoy them as well.

  1. Fine and casual dining: whether you’re looking to grab a bite while you’re on your way from one place to another or it’s a planned, special occasion dinner, you’ll find a great place to go.
  2. Miles of oceanfront beach. If you’re looking for a quiet place to reflect or you’re looking to add some challenge to your morning run or you want to be able to take a quick refreshing swim, you’re sure to be able to find it.
  3. Plenty of watersports. Boating, surfing, water skiing and more are all right there waiting for you - you know you’ve always wanted a jet ski.
  4. Fishing. From piers and out on the open water, it’s easy to make a great catch. With chartered trips, you’ll even find that you don’t need to own a boat of your own.
  5. Golf. World class courses and the World Golf Hall of Fame and even a number of golf schools are in the area; even if you don’t think your game is that great now, you can be inspired and work on getting better.
  6. Easy access to airports. Now, that’s not to say that you can’t get out there and see the world, but it’s also not to say that you’ll want to leave - it’s more to say that there’s an easy way for friends and family to get into town to visit or for you to take a trip up North in the winter to remember why you left.
