Think People Aren’t Passionate About First Coast Golf?

For those who call Florida’s First Coast home, one of the things that they know for sure is that golf is important. What we on the First Coast of Florida don’t always see is that, well, there are others who are just as passionate about our courses as we are:

(source)Most golf fans are familiar with the famous 17th hole at Sawgrass Golf Club near Jacksonville, Florida. It’s called the island hole, and golfers either hit the green or the water.

A northwest suburban man loves the hole so much he built one for himself.

Now, if that’s not devotion to Florida’s First Coast of Golf, I don’t know what is - aside from, perhaps, moving to Jacksonville just to be able to make it to play the Sawgrass seventeenth as much as possible. Of course, there are advantages that he’s going to miss. He’s not going to be able, for example, to play the hole in the winter months, living outside of Chicago after all.

Living in Florida, especially on the First Coast makes it easy to enjoy the things that you love year round - whether it’s the time that you spend out on the golf course aiming for the green or time spent taking a walk on the beach and watching the sun rise.
