First Coast Communities Brace for Another Storm

Unfortunately, despite all of the fantastic things about living on Florida’s First Coast, there are times when there can be a little stress involved - and most of those come during hurricane season. Right now, First Coast residents are being told to prepare for the possibility of another major storm:

(source) Tropical storm conditions, including winds of at least 40 mph and heavy rain, are likely to be felt in the region beginning Friday morning, forecasters said.

“The message we would give to everybody right now is that this storm certainly has the potential to be a threat to Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia,” said Steve Letro, meteorologist in charge of the local National Weather Service office.

In other words, if you live on the First Coast or you’re planning a visit to the area, it’s important to make an effort to brace for the storm - to know that you’re windows are ready to withstand the winds of the storm and to know that you have food and water on hand in case the power goes out.
