Florida Beaches: Staying Safe During the Storm

Florida beaches create a fantastic opportunity for those who live on Florida’s First Coast - as well as those who make plans to visit the area: from boating to wading, from swimming to surfing, from building sand castles to watching people and combing through the sand for buried treasure. Of course, during heightened alerts and when tropical storms are going through, it’s important to avoid getting into the water:

(source)Scott Peterson of the Volusia County Beach Patrol said that there are no lifeguards on duty but the Beach Patrol has been urging people to stay out of the surf because of the dangers caused by Tropical Storm Fay.

In other words, when you’re going to get out and spend time on Florida beaches, you are going to find that it’s important to look at all of the different situations that are going on: when there’s a risk, you’re going to want to be sure that you are aware of it and that you are taking appropriate steps to keep yourself safe.
