Saturday, November 10th, 2007

Living in St. Augustine, Florida has a lot to offer the history buff, the art lovers and those who just want to spend time relaxing by the sea. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of ways for families to have fun in St. Augustine.

St. Augustine’s Family Fun Factory makes it easy to get out there and play. Consider spending time racing around the track on go karts. Try not to strike out at the batting cages. Get a feel for the greens on the miniature golf course - and get the kids interested in spending time with you on some of the great courses in the area.

Of course, for grown up fun, why not consider spending some time at the paintball field - it’s a great way to get out your aggressions - perfect for some “family fun” time with your coworkers. Or, if you’re idea of competition isn’t so physical, why not spend the day at the arcade?

When it comes to living in St. Augustine it’s easy to find great ways to spend time with the family - no matter what your interests are. So go ahead, take in the history, check out the arts - but don’t forget to compromise and make time to play; the kid in you will thank you for it.

Take a Tour of Florida Beaches: Visit Daytona Beach

Florida beaches - both those on the Gulf Coast and those on the Eastern side of the state on the Atlantic Ocean - are a big part of the reason why tourists make the trip to Florida each year. But for those who live in Florida’s First Coast, a day trip is a great opportunity to take a break and remember what all of the fuss is about.

Take for example a trip to Daytona Beach. Not far from Jacksonville, beach lovers will find plenty of great activities that let them enjoy the water: snorkeling, SCUBA diving, parasailing, kayaking, jet skiing.

For land lovers, the Daytona Interenational Speedway is a must visit - for both NASCAR events and other racing throughout the year. At various other times, events like Daytona Biketoberfest and Spring Break let people see a bit of Daytona Beach’s wild side.

From watching sea turtles, visiting the Museum of Arts and Sciences, to just walking along the boardwalk, it’s not hard to enjoy a day spent at Daytona Beach. And, when you make it a point to take advantage of the great restaurants and night clubs in Daytona Beach, it’s not hard to remember the fun you had in the evening either.

Sport Fishing Near Jacksonville

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

If you’ve been living in Jacksonville and are looking for something to do, why not consider spending a day out on the water sport fishing?

Even if you don’t have a boat of your own, it’s not difficult to get out on the water with a chartered fishing tour.

With inshore fishing in the St. Johns River as well as in estuaries out a little further near Amelia Island and other areas, it’s possible to catch redfish, speckled trout, flounder and more.

When you head out a little further to the Mayport Jetties, you’ll be able to fish for both inshore and ocean fish - spadefish and even sharks are regularly caught.

Go out on your own or get together with some friends and head out for a day on the water. Challenge one another to see who can make the biggest catch or just see what you can get. It makes for a great day.
